Scrapbook Page for Grandma & Grandpa's Cottage
I wanted to do something totally different with this picture to record the memory of being at Grandma and Grandpa’s cottage. My children have always found peace and joy in their vacations at the cottage and this picture can attest to that. I simply took a 12 x 12 black sheet of paper and added the scene, all cut by hand. I used scissors to cut the curvy green paper for the “grass” at the bottom of the page, cut a tree trunk from a brown paper, different leaves from different green colored scraps, some red flowers, blue clouds and a yellow sun and then finished it using the same colours (brown, blue, green, yellow, red) in the title. When cutting letters from scraps of paper, always remember to draw the letters backwards on the wrong side of the page so that when you cut them out they will be the right way! I love old fashion scrapbooking
I love to scrapbook the old fashioned way…cutting and pasting! I have many scrapbooking magazines around the house and one day I just decided to cut my favorite pictures and products from several of the magazines. I collaged all these bits into this great layout to remind me how fun it is to scrapbook and to inspire me to continue creating whenever I can! Since creating this collage, I constantly refer back to the color wheel when creating other pages.
I also remind myself to “look deeper” into pictures I’m scrapping to ensure the message I’m sending is filled with love and inspiration to all those who will be viewing the book. Create your own inspiring collage today!

Emy at the petting zoo
Keeping your scrapbooking pages simple is the key to success! You will often see pages like this with a single picture that tells a great story. In this picture, my daughter, Emilia, is feeding goats at a local petting farm. The picture is so clean and the comfortable look between Emilia and the goat begged the title, “One with Nature”.
On a 12 x 12 sheet that held the same color scheme in the photo (brown and yellow) and a 10 x 10 brown mat the picture almost pops off the page. I found the great letter stickers that had a nature theme (notice the tiny flowers and leaves). I finished the corners of the mat with 4 different flowers and leaves and voila the page is finished and perfect! Create your own Nature page today!
