Great Hornby Trains

Hornby railway is something that is still around to day of course and although not as many people use it nowadays it is still a very popular brand.

Hornby Railways is the leading brand of model railways here in the UK and the idea actually came from Frank Hornby in 1901. The first clockwork train came into play in 1920, not long after, in 1928 was the first 00 gauge train.

One of the really good things when it comes to the Hornby brand that has recently occurred is that the brand is looking to go after kids too, this is great because it is getting them away from video games and things, Thomas and friends Hornby sets are loved by kids. The great shame is that before this the only childrens set you could get was the Harry Potter one and this is more for fans and older children. I actually do think I have the HP set somewhere. This was a really smart move by Hornby as there were certainly a lack of kids playing with the train sets which meant as soon as the older Hobbyists stopped there would be no one to carry on buying the products.

Don’t Just Set Up On The Floor

With Hornby you actually need to have a fairly big track layout to do it justice, a circle on the ground is no fun at all. If you want to do it right you are going to need to get more than one of those Hornby trains and mix it in with a bit of scenery ,a whole track and of course you could even throw in some RC models like the RC helicopter to really show off what you can do.

So in the end I think it is safe to say that yes people do remember Hornby and that they remember it very well indeed as it is still going very strong today.
